To create retainer templates and letters, go to “Settings” from the Main Menu and click on Templates.

On the Templates page, click on Agreements & Letters.

You can create a new template from scratch or upload an existing template.

Creating a new template will take you to the Create Template section where you can directly edit a blank document. Here, you can add placeholders directly on the Document and edit the document name.

To upload an existing template, locate the Microsoft Word Document on your computer, and then click on “Click to Upload” or simply drag your document over the upload box.

Once you have uploaded your Word Document, locate the file name of your recently uploaded template in Firm Templates and click Edit.

You will be taken to the Edit Template window where an editable Document will show you your uploaded template. You can edit the title of the document here as well.

Copy and paste the desired placeholder variables on your document by clicking the copy symbol beside the placeholder values of your choosing and pasting them on your document.

Adding Placeholders into your template allows the system to replace them with actual client data. There are different types of Placeholders that can be added to your document.

You can choose which placeholders you want to add to your documents, just refer to the Placeholders on the New Template or Edit Template page under the Agreements & Letters page.

Click Save once you are done editing.

You can view and download your saved template.

Alternatively, you may also edit your Word file in Microsoft Word before uploading it as a template. Copy and paste the desired placeholder variables on your document before uploading.

Once you’re done adding all your placeholders to your Microsoft Word Document, upload the document as your new template. Go back to the Agreement & Letters page from the Settings page, go to Firm Templates, click New Template, and then click Upload Template.

Find the Microsoft Word Document on your computer, and then click on “Click to Upload” or simply drag your document over. You’re done!
